Metro line E runs between Slinge in Rotterdam South and the city The Hague. The route runs via Rotterdam Central Station, Berkel en Rodenrijs, Pijnacker and Leidschenveen. The line runs 4-6 times an hour. On maps, line E is designated with a blue color.
Until 2006 there was a train line between The Hague and the former station Rotterdam Hofplein. Between 2006 and 2009 the line was converted into a suburban metro line, and the metro service called RandstadRail was born. Later, the station Hofplein was closed and a tunnel was built between Melanchtonweg and the Central Station.
Nowadays, metro line E starts under the Central Station and stops at Blijdorp, before stopping at Melachtonweg. At the next stop, Meijersplein, passengers can change to bus 33, that brings them to Rotterdam Airport.
The metro line continues to Rodenrijs, Pijnacker, Nootdorp and Leidschenveen. In The Hague, there are two stops. The first is at the train station ‘Laan van NOI’ and the second at the Central Station.Back to Transport
