Hook of Holland

Located at the seaside, the village Hook of Holland offers a large sand beach, a beautiful dune landscape and quite a few attractions. Although Hook of Holland is 30 kilometres away from Rotterdam’s city centre, the village is part of Rotterdam municipality.

North Sea Beach

Tourists mainly visit Hook of Holland because of its large, sandy beach. Hook of Holland Beach is a beach along the North Sea. This excellent beach is easy to reach, both by public transport and by car. Especially on sunny days, it can be very busy. On colder and windier days, many people go and get a breath of fresh air, or fly a kite.

Metro to Hook of Holland

Since 2019, Hook of Holland is connected to the Rotterdam Metro Network. During day hours, there is a 30-min frequency on metro line B between Rotterdam and metro station Hook of Holland Haven. This metro station is located quite centrally in the village, next to Stena Line’s ferry terminal.

There are plans to further extends metro line B. When this part of the line is completed, passengers will be able to travel all the way to the beach.
