This peninsula in the south of Rotterdam houses the biggest en highest skyscrapers of the city. The highest building with 165 meters is the Maastoren. Most recognizable is the building from architect Rem Koolhaas, The Rotterdam. This building houses a hotel, restaurant, offices and facilities, such as a gym and a coffee bar.
Kop van Zuid is the name of the neighbourhood, it means 'head of south'. Not only is this area popular for the architecture, but also for the (cultural) entertainment and dining options. Metro station Wilhelmina s located and is a few minutes walk to theater Nieuwe Luxor.
Kop van Zuid is not big. It is around ten minutes walk measured from the metro station Wilhelminaplein to Hotel New York, which is located at the end of the Peninsula.
