Next to Erasmusbrug, stands 'De Link', the oldest skyscraper of Rotterdam-South. In 2000, the construction of this tower was the first milestone in the transformation of the district Kop van Zuid. It took until 2018 before the tower was named 'De Link'. Before that, the tower was called 'KPN-gebouw' or 'Toren op Zuid'.
'De Link' was designed by architect Renzo Piano. The building leans over by 6% on its front and has a height of 96,5 meters. There are 23 floors, of which the most belong to the headquarter of Dutch telecom provider KPN.
An unique feature of this building is the lighting. The lights are designed and made by Studio Dumbar. Eight hundred ninety-six full-colour LED-lights show different animations, with announcements for events and the logo of KPN.
